Bob,
I almost bought an 86 S two door sedan (with the convertible trunk, no hatch) and remember thinking at the time that rigid little body would make a good twisty car! I've not seen one on the road (I'm near Atlanta) in years!
Regarding your camber, you say +/- camber....please explain! From my dinosaur Malibu, I'm running (at ride height, level) -0.5* camber, and it goes MORE negative with suspension travel. I'll have to study the SAAB front and see it the UCA is past horizontal at ride height...if yes, of course it goes more negative. From my explorations, POS. camber=no good, at least on big musclecars with heavy front/rear weight bias.
I recalled years back that INTRAX made a whole spring package to fit the C900 and someone posted that the spring rate was higher than SPG and the ride height lower. If you've got a picture of your 86 with the INTRAX to show me the ride height, I'd love to see it. Are you running 15's on both cars or did you fit up 16's? As I stated in the top of this thread, I work for TOYO so I can get some of their street racing rubber since this car will see limited street usage.
Any opinion on EIBACH springs? Some of the A body guys didn't care for their offerings as they work "progressive rate", not linear rate.
thanks!
Duane
