Don't go after the space age super high temp stuff. You do not need it, and it is very expensive and not very effective in the moderate temperature application that you are after.
I use a bubble pack material, about 1/4" thick, aluminun foil faced on both sides. I get it at ACE hardware and it is sold by the foot off of the roll.
You can tape it in place with aluminum foil duct tape, but I prefer to get a box of 1" steel paper camp style clips from the office supply store, and clamp turned up edges every 4" along pipes etc. This way I can remove the material for work and replace.
Also, in the summer, you want to put a ball valve in the coolant line that is used to head the throttle body.
I also insulate part of my throttle body.
