Aero 9-5 running issues and CPS

As described in the 9-5 forum.
CPS caused performance problems. Stage II ECU now runs better than ever before.
--------------------
2003 Aero Wagon, 90,000 miles
I had vague running issues that cleared up with a new CPS. Was not getting the inability to hot start. Hesitation when accelerating. Occasional hard starts, cold or hot.
With the new CPS, the Brew City stage II ECU is making a lot more boost into the red than it ever did before and there is no hesitation. So it would seem that there can be problems with the CPS that cause running issues that do not create a CEL code. Guessing that the ECU is programmed to work around a poor CPS signal, interpolating the engine position. And that may be responsible for the running issues that I experienced.
So what convinced me to try a new CPS [that I already had on hand]? Drove 900 miles in one day. At the Kansas I-70 end posted at 75mph, I was driving 80mph [true not indicated] and got off the interstate and was stopped at a traffic light. It was 102F, so things under the hood would have been very toasty. Light turned green and could hardly pull away. Lots of missed ignitions and hesitation. That made me very suspicious that this was a CPS problem at high temperatures.
Before this I inspected the vacuum lines and everything there was good. Also replaced the fuel pump & filter as I already had those on hand. I don't think that the fuel pump and filter made any difference.
