anything facing a wheel will get a good splash. beyond that i know not. imho as long as the car is making forward progress the air is cool enough in the engine compartment. when you are at power that sucker is pulling a lot of air and a suspect air intake is an awful big gamble for minimal gain. i am satisfied with my k/n type arrangment and i had 4 dyno runs all within a few % on a hot engine and with the dual filter blocking i/c air. i'd be really suprised to see a dyno increase over plain jane k/n. i have an open wkend if you want to swing by. drop me an email. i'm pretty good at this wierdo fabbing stuff but just have chosen to wait for front mount i/c project. that is really your best option. all others are just mental diversions. it is hard to do it well though. you have to rotate turbo compresser shell etc.
