I haven't seen any air maps, but anecdotally (personal exp. plus BS'ing with indy mechanics) anything above 18 psi is going to be out of the efficieny range of the stock Garrett units, a bit higher for the larger Mitsubushi units.
What dave n said has some merit, although again, it's anecdotal. It 'seems' reasonable to me. Whether or not it causes engine damage just as a result of too much heat causing preignition, that would be tougher to say, especially in light of the detonation controls in place.
