Civics usually have 14in wheels which are actually wheels with plastic covers, i am laughing because most of the ones, NOT all of them, have big @ss chrome wheels that weigh alot more then stock. There is nothing wrong with a 17in or 18in wheel as long as it is a quality wheel that tends to be lightweight. i'm not hating on large wheels my 9-3 has 17's and my Z has...well 14's but that is a different story. I noticed that you said quicker accleration due to better traction, i had always though it was the exact opposite if you put a smaller wheel on it it will spin quicker, isn't that also why drag cars have 12, 13, 14in wheels on the drive wheels. This is neglecting tire size. Oh well, guess i am wrong again!
