what am I hitting, fuel cut off or overboost? Posted by bryan [Email] (#542) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bryan) on Thu, 19 Jul 2001 17:15:13 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
recently modded 1992 9KT, car runs GREAT with the following mods:
Swedish Dynamics Red Series EPROM ugrade for DI/APC cars
3" custom turbo back exhaust
Forge BOV
K & N and minor air box mods
Under heavy boost, the engine will hit SOME kind of cut out, either a fuel cut off (my thinking) or I seem to recall there is some kind of overboost cut out switch.
Also, on a 92 9KT, what kinda FPR do I have? Rising rate?
what's odd is it 'seems' to only cut out the first time I 'romp' on it, it can happen in 3rd, 4th, or 5th, and happens even at low RPM's (2500+).
During 'sprited' driving, after a few early hiccups, the car seems to keep up just fine, running up to and over 20 psi. I'm theorizing that this car does have a RRFPR and the first time I goose it, i'm catching the fuel system napping with not enough pressure, and to prevent lean out it shuts off.
Thoughts, feedback, insight? I just received 40 lb/hr injectors, we'll see if that helps, I thought it would at first, but before installing them, i'm thinking that it might not address the cut-off situation.
TIA!
