I haven't been dirnking any beer(Icehouse)tonight so, don't think I'm tripping just yet o.k. I wanted to run something by you guy though, Why does my SAAB scare the hell outta me. Most of you here know that I've done a fairly good amount of mods to my car and I need to confess something and gather opinions about it. My confession is that I've never driven my car over 85 mph! Why you'll say? The car scares me to go any faster than that. This is me, driving down the highway at roughly 70-75 mph, and in my mind and seat of pants I'm moving pretty good(passing trucks/camper). Then cars in the left lane pass me all the time doing 85-90 or so. I say to self "lets open it up a little" so I push it up to 80-85 mph and I'm affraid to go any further than that cause my SAAB just seems sooooo fast at that speed. although the speedo says I'm doing 85 or whatever, the car feels like it''s going soooooo much faster than that. Feels like 100-110 or so. Like it's compressing space and time, completely eating up the road in front of me. What wrong with me?, is there anything wrong with me? I'm 30 yrs old and have owned/driven in alot of cars at speed greater than 110-120 mph. In both of my previous cars a 1996 VW Jetta GLX(VR6) and a 1993 Audi 100S, I'd easily drive over 100 mph in them, all the time. I'd even driven the Jetta to redline (somewhere near 130 mph on a long stretch of road in New Mexico)on a few occasions. Even then I was trying to go faster. But, the SAAB feels different/faster to me somehow. I don't know why though, can someone explain? I can tell this much though, when holding at 80-85 mph the SAAB seems to want to be pushed further/faster. As if it were saying "come on, I'm ready to go all the way". It's strange.. Does anyone get this with their SAAB?, Perhaps with some other car they've driven? Is it because the SAAB is under boost? I've owned this car for 3.5 yrs and this has always puzzled me. I just wish I had the answer.. Thanks, Phil
