og900T eriksson rev lever r&r, other musings

OK friends, I finally bowed to other users of my SAAB and purchased an Eriksson industries-modified reverse lever to cure the pop-out habits this car has. Yes, I could have simply modified my own to do the same job, but I really wanted it to be a quick r&r job (family, job, 2 kids, no time, etc!)
Question I have is this: after draining the Mobil 1 synth outta the trans, is it necessary or actually counterproductive to go further and clean/ flush the trans? Figured on just draining well and wiping off w/ clean rags -
And should I really change to other fluids rather than the Mobil 1 which I have always used? This is an 86 trans, 175k miles, and I'm second owner (original owner was a non-racing mom-type). Other than rev pop-out,no other shift probs. Advice on fluids?
OK, next deal, I want to put the Kumho 712's on my CS blackspokes. sizes are 195/55 or 205/50 - can the 205/50's fit this stock alloy? And are these tires pretty cool w/ sidewall strength? I'm anxious to lose the old BFG GT Qualifiers which have that excellent tendency to flop over on hi speed manuevering.
