I agree with the cool air (more molecules per volume) being good but water content in a turbo intake charge has also to be a good thing (a liquid to vapour state change soaks up heat)
Possible reasons your car runs bad when it's humid; The AMM is fooled by the water content of the air and induces the ECU to over or under fuel?
If it's hot and humid you still have less oxygen content in the air in proportion to it's volume - again the AMM may be unable to tell the difference?
I guess the only way to tell is to run an A/F meter in these different conditions and see what the fueling is.
In a 'seat of the pants' measurement I have to say I get the best performance on cold damp days!
