Carl,
14.7 is a decent time. Your trap speed is really a better indicator of what's under the hood than your 1/4-mile time. Time can be affected by so many factors. A good trap speed requires some power under the hood.
A friend of mine ran 14.07 @ 107 last week in his 9000 CSE. He has some serious power. Big turbo (Mitsu TD04 HL-18T), big injectors, big IC, different cams etc etc Plus, of course, all the standard 3", open K&N, dump etc. It has been dynoed @ 366 hp. He runs on slicks for drag race, but does run big 18" wheels in the rear...
Another friend has run a 13.38 @ 112 mph in his 1994 9000 CSE. His car is even more modified with HUGE Garrett T04E ball bearing turbo, Abbott IC, 3", larger injectors, ported head, open K&N and more... It puts out 350++ hp. He also has a Quaife LSD and runs on slicks. But that is one BAD 9000...
Try to clock some acceleration numbers. They will give you a good idea of the kind of power you have. Try testing 60-90 mph and 50-75 mph with a "flying start", i.e start 10 mph or so ahead of the start of the interval.
Let me know and I'll try to give you an idea of where you're at.
/ Karl
