I certainly wouldn't like too see an '89 900T wrecked either! :) But if I do......

The car has been very well maintained, just by looking at it you can see it has been. When I bought it, I opened the hood and looked in...I think the guy cleaned this thing with a toothbrush, engien spotless, it didn't smoke at all then (this was over a year ago when it has 253K). It has had 3 owners before me, the original, an older male doctor from New Jersey who had the car for years (bout it new in '85), then to a guy in NJ who only had it for a few months then placed it for sale on the classifieds section of this site, from there it went to the guy I bought it from, who only had it for about 8 months or so (He has had 2 more SPG's since, he buys &sells).
The guy I bought it from said he always had oil changed and babied the car, it showed. I got it, with very little if any knowledge about engines &etc., and drove it, It began to run poorly, I had a tune-up done and had the mass air sensor replaced as well most of the engine hoses &added a K&N air inlet kit. For a while, I had the oil changed at a place called "Prompto 10 minute oil change", and evem sometimes at Wal Mart where they use "Super Tech" oil (?), in the course of about a month I went throuh a stupid little stage of wanting to drive very fast, so I did. (I think we all go through this when we first get out licenses). I her very fast, every day for a whole month, maybe a little more (probly 2 or 3 lol), then I began to notice a little smoke. I hadn't been exactly "religious" about oil changes, so I started changing it myself with Mobil 1, every 3K, and drive her way easier. But now, I'm still stuck with the smoke problem.
Probley what I have here is just a plain old tired engine that needs replacement.
