I am not sure how it was done. If you could get ahold of a schematic from saab, clarion or whoever else might have it, you could probably do it in less then a hour.
The EQ in my 89 SPG doesn't have a amp on it (I thought my 87 SPG did) which would make it a LOT easier.
Pretty much, you would splice into the DIN cable going from the EQ & hook that into your existing radio's RCA cables as well as to your external amp. The hard part is just figuring out which wires do what.
Unfortunantly there isn't a set way for companies to set up DIN cables. The Adcom amps I use have balanced inputs & the DIN cable coming from my eclipse deck had a totally different wiring diagram. FORTUNANTLY, the shop I purchased the radio from new what the wires were on the eclipse side as well as adcom side so it was simple.
Not knowing would be a PITA & at least to me, not worth it ESPECIALLY if it takes more then a hr or 2 :o)
