Make the prosecution demonstrate that your car can do 170KMH where you were allegedly clocked doing that speed. But also make sure the car can't beforehand!!! If, as I hope the case would be on the day, your car cannot reproduce that speed, you can argue that the speed gun must have been defective. And that then opens a completely new case. As far as you are then concerned, you were doing 70 ish...
Now, I am not trying to teach you how to be a criminal, but I know of at least three cases where this trick has worked.... Enough said.
And as a "cheer mw up" ending: a couple of weeks ago a top british policeman got cought speeding. He argued in court that he couldn't remember if he was driving the car! So all is not yet lost for you. Keep your chin up and lie like hell!
