I don't beleive the T7 management systems states it will run 1.5 bar of boost at 7K feet, but that it will develop 230 HP at that altitude no matter what (well almost) the exact conditions are. 20 PSI is max & I would think that would be at the worst condition's where the car would see that. 10K feel or extremely hot/humid days. 15 PSI is suppose to be about 1 bar of boost & to me the 1.5 bar that your mechanic states you should be running, would be done whene it's needed.
