I may be able to help with 1 of the 2 things... Posted by Jon [Email] (#11) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Jon) on Mon, 29 Oct 2001 10:08:13 In Reply to: can't use performance, stew mac, Mon, 29 Oct 2001 05:35:31 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
On my '90 SPG my car would buck @ around 3700 to 4000 rpm's under load (if on a slight incline, and i mean slight, or if heavily loaded with a full tank, full trunk, and 4, 6 ft. tall people) and the problem was solved by replacing my ignition system. I would have your wires checked out, they may be going bad. As for the crackle, i didn't hear one on mine, but it could be related to the other issue. Let me know what you find out, if you go with aftermarket wires, get magnacore, i had nology hotwires on and they were the problem, plus they use carbon resistors (last time i checked) are nice @ first, but if they go bad, it can create dangerous amounts of voltage that could lead to more problems in some cases that i've heard of.
Hope this helps,
Jon
