Trent Saab makes some quality stuff. The wastegate actuator is huge, and very well made. It is even serviceable (top has 8 removable screws). Very cool. The RRFPR was simple to install and works extremely well (made by Malpassi, sold by Trent).

Both items provide obvious benefits.

RRFPR: The RRFPR enabled me to get rid of the annoying richness at idle while still having enough fuel to run super boost (I had been using a 3.0 bar FPR and 30# injectors. Injs are still in). Set at the recommended 3.2 bar (with vacuum disconnected), the FP drops to around 2.4 - 2.5 at idle when the line is reconnected. It climbed to nearly 5 bar under heavy boost. I will likely take it back to around 2.8 bar (w. vac disconnected), but I want to do some dyno runs to check a/f ratios properly.

Wastegate Actuator: Super sensitive to adjustment. Originally installed cranked all the way in (just to see what would happen) resulted in, uh, CRAZY BOOST (= 26 psi). This is bad. Attempts to adjust the wastegate actuator for lower boost were futile, as this unit was so sensitive to even one half turn that such a change made for ZERO boost driving. Yuck. We tried nearly every setting, and cranked in seems to be the only real functional way to run it.

The actuator does, though, fully sustain these boost levels without issue. It is truly a well made piece.

I must detune the car now. 26 psi of boost is just way too much. No amount of fuel can run that kind of boost. I am experiencing detonation under this super boost, also, even with the RRFPR. It is fun to watch the needle zoom past 20 psi, though...

The end result: more wheelspin! The throttle response is remarkable, and the spool up is lightening quick. We rotated the tires today, and it helped somewhat, though this added power quickly overtook what little road handling they had left in them.

Handling: I ordered new tires, but they do not come in until next week (Pilot Sports). I have the Bilsteins ready to go, but they will not go on until I can get the springs I want (Intrax). Sway bar issues will be resolved soon, too.

Thanks for readin'.
