...the Triumph Dolomite Sprint started production in 1973 with what I thought was the first mass-produced 16V engine and sold well until it ceased production in 1980. For a 2.0l normally-aspirated engine, it was pretty powerful for its day (127BHP) and quick: 0-60 in 8 seconds and a 16 second 1/4 mile, with a top speed of about 115MPH.
The best of it, of course, was that Saab bought the engine design and all our engines are descended from it.
