Pulling the AC followup

Well I finally got the AC system out of the car. It was a bit harder than the posts here made it sound so I thought I'd follow up to save someone else the irritation:
- the evaporator can be removed but you have to disconnect the cockpit air intake stuff (the vacuum servo that controls the flap for the hood intake) and move it out of the way first. Then it's just a matter of playing with the evaporator until you get the right angle and it slides right out. In my case, along with it came a couple bushels of rotten leaves :)
- removing the compressor bracket is a pain in the ass UNLESS you save yourself the trouble and cut the alternator/water pump belts. Loosen the alternator mounting bolts and swing it out of the way to have clear access to the bottom compressor bracket bolt. I figure the belts are cheap and it saves a lot of angling the wrench and cursing.
I dropped about 50 lbs. of parts off the car and the low end was substantially improved without the compressor dragging on it.
Enjoy!
