I'm really getting no boost taper right now. None but then again we have very differant set ups to our cars. Also when I accelerate I try not to slam down on the gas pedel but increase depressing it for a more silky type of acceleration. This method takes practice but produces a safer acceleration without damaging the tranny also it helps reduce some of the more unwanted side effects of the turbo meaning boost spikes, breaking traction and excessive tire ware.
Have you always had this type of acceleration problem or is this a new onset? If it has alway been like this it may be the MBC. I'm sure Dean has a post on this type of problem. I think he experanced it with the Hallman boost controller and reduced it by using turbo X controller (I think thats right). If its a new onset try checking the BCP, plugs, gas(it could be watered down) or try a good injector cleaner(cloged injectors). Good luck finding the culprit.
