Another theory on pulling (here we go again)

Late last summer I replaced the Michelin Pilot HX tires (205/50/16) with Firestone SZ50s in 205/55/16 on our 9-3. The pulling immediately went away. This was combined with the obvious benefits of driving on new tires.
The pulling has been slowly reappearing over time. Currently, it's only once in a while where I say, "what just happened" because the wheel pulled to one side a bit. It's still nothing like before.
What's the theory? I'm getting there.
When I removed the summer tires and installed the snows, I had the summer tires stacked neatly in the garage. I noticed that the summer tires that were on the front were actually taking shape when viewed facing the tread itself.
The tread is wearing more on the inside, possibly because of the large amounts of negative camber on my 9-3. It's plainly visible. It's not like alignment wear that happens just on the edges, the tread seems to be becoming slanted towards the inside. I'll take some diameter measurements this weekend.
So my theory is... I had a theory :)... that the shape the tire is taking is making the car follow grooves in the road. I wonder if anybody has looked into this before? I've read about conicity, so maybe that's it.
The tires only have about 6K miles on them now, so rotating in the spring when I put them back on will help. Maybe if I just rotate every 5K I'll be OK.
