No.
Stephan at LESCO said he had three fail out of a batch of 100. Mine did the most damage, unfortunately. He said he would give me my $$ back and put stock springs in or go to a dual spring set up. I'm leaning toward the dual spring set up.
I just came back from PAECO. I went there so Carl could look at the specs of the pistons, cylinders, etc. I asked him if the motor should have been honed and he said yes. I then tilted the block back and showed him that it was never honed after boring. Plus, he couldn't account for the three of the four top compression rings being broken, or why the top compression rings were sized improperly. He started to bitch about having delivered the motor in August of 2000, but I reminded him of each and every F'up his "apprentices" have caused and that pretty much quieted him down. I ALMOST left the block there for honing, but I decided against it. I don't want to deal with him anymore. He's had more than enough chances to get things right, but when you hire people with little or no experience..that's what you get. It appeared he only had one kid working there. late teens or early 20s. Putting motors together. Crazy. Oh, I showed him the crank bearings and the trash that had been on them at start up....he tried to down play the importance. Again, I reminded him that I paid top dollar and expected top dollar work. Maybe "attention to detail" isn't included in top dollar work.
