Volvo meter+30lb injectors - verdict?

Help, I'm at the crossroads where the stock '88 9000T stock injectors need to be replaced with bigger ones.
Will replacing the mass-airflow sensor with a Volvo 740T sensor and 30# injectors get the job done WITHOUT sacrificing idle and part-throttle driveability? Can anyone post a dyno chart with A/F ratio running this setup?
On the other hand, has anyone gone with 30# injectors and stuck with the stock meter and gotten the car to idle properly AND drive properly?
I want better than stock driveability and a constant 12:1 - 12.5:1 A/F ratio on a dyno run. Will any of the "bandaid" combos such as rising rate regulators, FMUs w/bigger injectors do this, or must I bite the bullet and go with an aftermarket ECU?
Then there's that stock ignition that can take out 10 degrees or so of timing instantly going from vacuum to boost, YIKES! The MSD BTM and butchered factory boost-retard could fix this.
It seems like I have a choice of several scenarios:
1. 24# injectors with rising rate regulator and MSD BTM
2. 30# injectors and MSD BTM
3. 30# injectors, Volvo 740T MAF and MSD BTM
4. 30# injectors and Autronic SMC.
The challenge is I want it all without spending a fortune. Will scenario 2 or 3 get the job done?
Thanks in advance,
Keith.
