If you want a A/F ratio of 12.0-12.5 all the time, you'll need to go to a controlled 5th injector, or the full aftermarket ECU. Almost certainly, the 5th injector route won't have as smooth an A/F ratio (assuming the aftermarket system is dialed in properly), but it is of course about 1/6 the price.
The stock ignition only dumps 5 degrees of timing advance, not 10. It's 16 at idle and will retard to 11 degrees under full boost, or 11 psi in your case. I have a modified distributor diaphragm that goes from 20 degrees at idle to 10 degrees under full boost. I can't say it's ideal, but having 20 base timing really really helps off the line and at lower rpms.
