yeah, at wot the ecu goes to closed loop, or a preset fuel map. that means that injector pulse does not change with boost. it is set to expect stock boost levels (including boost taper) and deliver the necessary fuel. in this loop, it does not change injector pulse based on boost level. thus, the problem with turning up boost or running more air through your engine, the stock ecu will only put in the fuel required by the stock set up. therefore the approach many have been taking, is to simply raise the fuel pressure to force more fuel through each time the injector opens for the stock pulse. it seemed to be the best way around using the stock ecu and making more boost. however, others are in the works...
this brings the question, if the spg models were set with higher base boost and tweaked apc boxes, i wonder if the spg ecu's were programmed with a different closed loop map (thus being different than the stock turbo maps)? anyone know for sure?
