Good point. However, I wonder if the diaphragm on the actuator is very progressive in nature. I.e., does it open a little until the pressure hits a critical point (which should be close to basic boost if this behavior happens!), at which a small pressure increase results in a sudden dramatically large movement and hence opening of the waste gate.....In other words, is the wastegate creep discussed here easily visualised in the behavior with the bike pump arrangement...? If so, this arrangement may be ideal to tune a Dawes device suggested on this board to overcome wastegate creep....
