It looks like the new garret GT is the best turbo out there. I'm looking at the GT25 or GT30. I'll have a degree in mechanical egr myself in May but researching and selecting a turbo still isn't easy. What I'd like to see is garret actually install different size turbos on the same car and show dyno charts, quarter mile or other times, etc. That would make it much easier. If I take the job with the 4k signing bonus..guess what it will be promptly spent on! Student loan? it can wait.
