Today I replaced the Abbott boost controller with my old Hallman unit that has been taking up space in the toolbox. I currently have a Abbott ECU, Abbott BOV, Ram air, K&N airfilter, Saab sport exhaust, Viggen intercooler, and I sanded the transition throttle body piece. I changed the Abbott unit to the Hallman unit mainly because I could only hit 1.49bars in fifth gear and wanted the power even through out all the gear. I also understand that the first two gears are considerably shorter then the latter and that there may be problem with trying to obtain 1.49bars in the lower gears. The impressions that I got was that the Hallman unit was better suited for my car allowing a much more consistant boost pressure thrughout the gears with only a slight set back. The set back was that in the second gear the car seems to run out of steam at around 4800-4900 rpm's. When this happens it feels like the car is trying to tell the driver to shift gears in which I do but it is very awkward feeling. It feels like your either overhearing the turbo unit, running lean or that car is being redlined. I'm not sure what the route of this problem is but hopefully with further looking into I'll be able to find it and keep this current set up. The other gears are running great. It also appear that I could adjust the boost controller for more power but have decided against it untill the problem with second is solved. I still need to hook the boost gauge and measure the boost pressure and I also need to add the tech 2 to ensure that the car is also not running lean but if I found out what the problem is with the second gear then I will post the results.

I also recently bought a drill hammer which runs at 3000rpms compared to my old drill which ran at 1200rpms. When I bought this new drill I decided to take apart my transitions throttle piece and sand it down even further then I did about a year ago. I used a 2" drum sander and sanded away until the drum sander could easily flow into the transition piece. The results is a much freer flowing transition peice but with one side effect of a whistle under hard acceleration.

In the next couple of days or weeks depending on my current progress I will be taking the car to the dyno to see how it is running. It should be interesting.
