Nobody else that responded to you seemed to care, but 24 deg btdc is quite advanced...what kind of ignition system and retard are you running? Also, changing the timing from 24 btdc to 10 btdc is retarding the timing, not advancing it...
You *could* temporarily reinstall the parts that would get you through emissions, but I think it would be nice if you got the car running right in the configuration that you will actually be using it in. I have yet to seriously tweak an LH 2.4 car, so I will leave that to those who have...
