a simple MBC will net mid 13's, but as you mentioned, the car is horrible if you are looking for any luxury. I like the IS300, but not enough to actually consider buying one. The Maxima??? Performance is about more than horsepower, it just doesn't handle as well as the others. The Infiniti G35 would be a much better candidate.
As far as A4 styling, I don't like the rear either. Which is why I plan to buy an avant, unless Saab completely surprises me with the new 9-3.

I think the A4 with an aero kit looks great. The A4 isn't the perfect car, but so far it's the only car available that offers the luxury and the sport, combined with tunability at a reasonable cost. I mean the 330 is nearly 40k with minimal options, and the rest are all about 35, plus they are NA so it would be more expensive to extract power.
