Today, I removed my Stage II APC box (from SPG9) from my car because I was experiencing too much boost (24 psi sustained in 3rd - 5th gears). This was making my clutch slip, which was pretty damn annoying, especially considering it is about brand new. I have an 89 S geared box and a 91 turbo clutch, by the way.

I put in a stock APC box (not tweaked at all) and it brought me back to 15 psi solid. Excellent. I'm aiming for 17 - 18 psi, so I reinserted my BPC restriction modification, and that took me back to 21 psi. This works quite well, as the clutch no longer slips, and the car is faster than ever. I'd still like to take it back to 18 psi, but this works just fine for now :)

For a nice little test, on the way home I got to tangle with a BMW M5 (yes, five) on a humongous highway (I-270 in MD). Traffic was light to moderate, so we couldn't go nuts, but he passed me at 100+ mph or so (I was doing 75). I saw him come up from behind me, but I did not think he was going that fast! I dropped down to 4th and caught up to him pretty easily. We were about even most of the way, with me out maneuvering him and beating his accelration a few times. It was a lot of fun, & we exchanged waves when we parted. I'd say it was a 97 or 98 M5. Anyone know the specs on that car?

Oh, and my 1995 Aero arrived today. I am having a good Saab day. :)
