The cost of those clutches on the Turbo site link given by Dave are quite high I agree. The units to be sold by Scanwest won't be that costly. Consider this, if a person went with the 9" Centerforce unit at $500.00 and an aluminum flywheel for $500.00, you are still in the $1000.00 range.
Granted the DSM clutch diameters are in the same range as the SAAB OEM clutches, but they can't even be remotely same. The 8.50" SAAB OEM unit in my opinion is really only good for 225 HP max with expected life shortened drastically. I tried the 8.50" Centerforce Unit which held up for less than six months and I do not smoke my clutch. I only apply full power once the clutch is fully engaged. Karl and other 9000 Aero owners say that clutch life with the OEM 9.50" disc. is very short lived with high HP output such as the amount my own c900 is producing.
What is it that allows the DSM units to handle such high HP? Is it a dramatically modified pressure plate with special friction disc? Where are you coming from?
