for c900, a 9" centerforce ass'y is about $380 from summit. A lightened, used M90+ fw (for pre M90 c900's) should be about $200. not a $1000 ass'y, unless alum fw is used.
dsm size is key point ... centerforce has an 8.8" 2500 lb dsm upgrade good for 300+ hp, and minimal xtra load on crankshaft brg.
afaik, karl only had 9.5" aero slip when he upped to 20+ psi, and the sachs upgrade fixed that. he thought stock aero clutch was good for 340 ft-lbs (stock aero 2.3T puts out 260 ft-lbs). I didn't think u were slipping the stock aero ass'y, and the 9" centerforce may have worked for u.
nothing special on dsm's, and the 400 hp ass'y would be for the drag strip only, due to high crank thrust.
multi plate clutches are usually expensive and very grabby, but do provide high torque and low inertia.
