I have a 97 900set with a Abbott ECU, ram air, K&N air filter, viggen intercooler, Water injection onto intercooler, forge bov, Saab sport exhaust and a boost controller. Ever since I have added the boost controller I have had detonation/engine knock in the some of the gears while under WOT. I can achieve 1.5+ bars with another mod to the map sensor but this is not being used until the current problem is solved. The map sensor mod helps with overboost but I like to run the car at a 1.49bar max boost. Abbott has in the past claimed that is problem is not due to their ECU upgrade and I suspect it is a fuel delivery problem due to the 34# injectors not being big enough to handle such a heavy boost load. This is why I'm currently upgrading my turbo and injectors. Upgrading the turbo will allow me to run the turbo at a lower psi and acheive the same effect due to the lower temps. Upgrading the injectors is going to allow me to run more aggressive boost pressure in all gear when I go the the track. You can not simply just add the upgraded injectors to the engine due to the the engine running to rich. You have to set a new fuel pressure to allow for the proper mixture at low rpm's. I think you know far to well what can happen to the car if I running it lean. How can I map this set up to allow for me reach my goal of 300hp without detonation/engine knock? Thanks again for any help.
