You need to drill out and tap one of the banjo bolts, probably the one on the firewall side, then screw in a 90 degree elbow. Then screw the gauge into the elbow and done. Just be sure to use thread sealant on the gauge to elbow threads. You may have to put the elbow/banjo bolt in first, then screw in the gauge because of clearance issues.
Oh, re: the amp box, I'll try and measure it up later this week, busy busy busy!
