I was coming back from an epic powder day at snowbasin, and I'm tired, so I'm just cruising down Weber canyon (twisty interstate) at about 75... you know, I'm tired, so I'm just cruising. All of a sudden, this behemoth of a truck (the Utah lift kits and all) is RIGHT on my bumper. I mean, all I saw was this huge axle and part of the bumper in the rearview. So I'm like, OK. So I punch it in fifth, and got up to 95 or so in a couple seconds- took him a while, but he followed. Then the next turn came- The cornering forces were nice (you know, bucket seat style turns, car stayed flat as a board), and I maintained my speed. Then I looked in the rearview, and almost watched this dude take out a focus in the right lane as he totally drifted into it. I lost him after that.
He probably pooped his pants. Yea, so speed isn't everything. Real racing has very little to do with just going fast. Hope you had fun with the viper. I was in Atlanta a while back, and pulled up next to one at a stop light... tried to tease him into racing (I really wanted to see him smoke!), but when the light went green, both of us just pulled out sorta normally. Too bad. He would have totally cooked me if he could stay in his lane.
Keep it real, guys. Drive safely.
