With the water cooled turbo bearing housing a timer is not needed at all. If you are driving real hard, then the transition to city driving or a parking lot will take care of things. If you are in the habit of doing 100 mph on boost straight into a parking spot, then you might have problem. When I hit a rest stop on the interstate, I am usually getting off throttle a long way out and coasting on the way in. if you are using Mobil One is is highly resistant to coking up. But remember the biggest risk of coking oil in these vehicles is the top piston ring, not the turbo.
The two stage MBC's are expensive and some are bleeder valves. These will be rather sluggish in turbo spoolup compared to a ball and spring device such as the dawes or TurboXS HP models.
There are many posts on this BB which are for the C900's and much of that does not apply to your T5 ECU system at all. The trick is to even know that they are talking about sometimes.
A dual stage MBC would allow you to have lower boost in 1st gear if you could hook up a switch to do that. But you have a foot, you can learn how to control the engine with that. Know one else has felt that they really needed to do such a thing.
Again, a MBC REALLY should have a Sports exhaust and intake mods done first. And one should never increase the power delivery of any engine that is not well maintained or is not in good mechanical condition.
