fueling test results 2.5barfpr s & amm mod (long) Posted by jak [Email] ![]() ![]() |
so to begin with I have checked all my FI components & know them to be in good health.
the reason for this post is to give clear answers on this setup based on what I found on my 85 SPG
o2 sensor from idle to redline at .8-.9v no closed loop operation.
with the amm screw turned CCW (lean) to just before I started to get a miss due to low injectorPW at idle my injector dudycycle was at 2.5 %(verry small) at idle a wot snap got me to about 35%
with the resister on the amm sig wire at 400 ohms resistance I started to get closed loop operation but with the injPW closed down so far that a miss occured at the lean end of the swing. off idle till 1800 rpm it stayed in closed loop no load but with enough resistance to get closed loop at idle I got a nasty stumble under boost.
what I found is that in my humble opinion the resister in the amm trick is a bad idea if you run larger injectors than fake out the ecm so it dosent open them as long you are nulifying the larger injectors & near idle where the PW is small perticularly when the o2 voltage high comanding the ecu lean the injectors arent made to work at these small pulsewidths & you will induce a drivability problem.
the best thing to do is run out & buy a rrfpr turn the fp down till you get closed loop statically(no load)with #30s rated at 3bar I think about 2 bar base FP will do. this will give you the fuel economy of closed loop operation at idle & lite accel but when you start to make serious boost the 1.7 lb FP to 1lb boost rise will give you plenty of fuel up top I havent bought my rrfpr yet but I will post that info as soon as I get it
I hope this was helpful & not anoying.
have fun
JAK
