I just bought a 91+ 9000 intercooler from todd at eeuroparts. I'm in the planning stages for the next few months. It should be easy to mount the intercooler itself so I'm mainly trying to figure out the best way for the ducting. I don't want to use a combination of older style pipes (as some here have done) due to the smaller ID. It's bad enough having more of a total pressure drop from increasing the total number of bends. Every increase and decrease of ID adds pressure drop. I figure I might be able to have a muffler shop mandrel bend the pipes?? OR, maybe I can get the stock 9000 pipes and cut them to get the proper routing, and use rubber junctions. Another concern: does anyone think I can turn the turbo comressor housing so the output points downward? That would get rid of a big 180 degree bend going down to the intercooler inlet. Oh, will it fit in front of the a/c condenser? If it won't I can yank it out. The compressor is already gone anyway.
