the best way to see what the differences are after a modification are to run it as is directly after each mod is made. That way, if it's fantastic, you'll know why. OR... if it sucks you'll know exactly where to start looking. Go drive, test out how it is. Idle quality is very important, though others here can give you a better idea than I can as to how to fix that problem on LH 2.4. Probably the only thing I would do would be to check to see where the timing is set (if the distributor was moved, which it almost definitely was when the turbo was replaced).
The mods you have should support that turbo very well, though I would suggest going to a RRFPR and 30# injectors eventually (or stand alone fuel management if you've got the cash and the patience).
Questions for you: why do you think the boost level will be lower on this turbo? Seems like it would be higher, if anything. More importantly, where is this turbo efficient (what pressure ranges are ideal for this tbo's peak performance)? Too high = out of its efficiency range = spiked intake temps = less than ideal situation. What wastegate actuator is being used? Stock? If so, the max boost level should not change much, unless is goes down.
Good luck. Let us know how it is. :o)
