Well here I go.. Here's my mods-I have an 88 spg. 149,000 miles. I have a S.D. apc(stage2), group 6 intercooler and turbo pipes; K&N filter; Magnecore wires, ngk plugs; Bosch cap and rotor; RRFPR; new fuel filter; fuel pump, pre-pump, and clutch; new idle speed actuator; silicone vacuum lines and Bosch turbo bypass valve, modified bpc (apc) solinoid and 24lb inj. I just put the 24lb inj in about 2 weeks ago. When on the gas I was hitting 20 psi max, tapering to 16 and fluctuating between 10 and 16. But, i was getting detonation. Someone suggested getting rid of the apc mod(wasaab). So what I did was drill out the brass plug to 1\16 and cleaned the solinoid. My first ride I hit 22psi-Was thinking what the hell did I do wrong. Took out solinoid and checked it, put a meter on it to see if it was still working and yes all is fine. On freeway again, and 23 psi tapering to 18 and NO KNOCK. The car before would bounce the boost guage all over. Now the car will sustain 18psi-no prob. I know this is not much compared to some cars on this board, but I have no prob. hitting 23psi in 3rd-5th gear. So, is this a fluke? Maybe someone else out there can try this and see if it changes anything on their car.
I'm noT sure exactley how all this ties together, but I seem to have found a happy medium on my car
I thought that doing this would decrease boost??
Bye the way, I did the solinoid mod before I added the apc box.
Cheers.
