For aftermarket turbos that don't have a water cooled bearing you need a turbo timer to help prevent damaging the bearing or coaking inside the turbo.(Oil burning up from high heat and leaving a residue inside the turbo) Early Saab turbos from 1978-1986 didn't have water cooled bearings and sometimes suffered from this, so right on the visor it told you to idle for 30 seconds before shutting down. A wise rule of thumb even if yours is watercooled.
Even if you were out running as hard as you can, or even worse do a bunch of lapping sessions at a race track you would only need to let the car idle for a minute before shutting down and walking away.

Maintainence is key........Change oil......let idle for at least a few seconds before shutting down.
