Sorry folks,
Should have clued you in that this Tech2 concern stems from the apparent necessity to "code" most new (electronic) accessories to the 9-3. I have a 185hp 2000 9-3 (3-door), and found out the hard way that the Pioneer Audio system in my 9-3 isn't as receptive to accessories as the Clarion system in my wife's NG900S. Obviously, the problem with this "coding" mess is that a simple *swap* of the ECU's (from Abbott to stock) won't be possible without the Tech2. Which would obviously suck, as I have about 35K miles/3 years left on my warranty. This would definitely be a deciding factor regarding an ECU upgrade. Any other 9-3'rs have first hand experience with the Abbott ECU upgrade, especially the interchangeability of both ECU's WITHOUT the use of *special* tools?
