what do you mean by 30-32 brought in by 28-3000rpm?
my idle is around 21-28% load. 43% load is atmospheric, so per a stock set up, timing at 43% load would be 20 dbtdc (well, maybe my tuned stock set up:). therefore 0-43% load would be 36 tapering to 20 at 43%? with minor changes to dial in idle.
above 43% i'm into boost (but as i said, it's remaining at 5-6 psi for now).
with my previous set up, i retarded to a max of 11.5-12 dbtdc at max boost (18-20 psi). i had the msd btm (which is gone now) and i tinkered with that thing forever. i found i got made the best progress from that when i set it up to duplicate the stock timing curve and then slowly tuned from there. before that, i felt as though i was chasing my tail. hence, the initial desire to use the stock map as a starting point.
i can make adjustments in 3-d so i can compensate for timing and fuel at varying load and rpm points (that leaves a lot of little square to fill in :) ).
fueling wise, my only option right now is to use my a/f gauge to get normal driving dialed in a round stoich. wot runs will have to be done on the dyno. so i'll be taking it easy until then.
any recommendations for problems you ran into along the way?
thanks.
