thanks for the info. i guess my initial concern is the large amount of advance. i am used to thinking of timing retard under boost and going as much as 11-12 btdc. unfortunately, there is no knock control with this system. however, there are two auxiliary inputs so it would be possible to rig something to the stock knock sensor to provide the input. although, i'm not really convinced it's necessary (with the right fueling as dialed in on the dyno, and compentsation for air and engine temp); but that's one of the reasons i'm going slow.
as far as curves go, you are saying that as rpms climb for a given load band, timing advance should increase? and then as load climbs for a given rpm (i.e. increase in boost) timing should retard slightly, right?
i must say, i am truely pleased with the control i have over the system. i spent about an hour and a half on the highway yesterday watching the mixture at various load points and rpm points, finding flat spots or anomalies in the mixture and tuning them out. it's really amazing how smooth things can be made with respect to the stock setup.
today greggc is coming down to pilot for me while i tune some more. i'll try bumping the timing up, up to 28-3000 rpm.
as far as trailing throttle, i do have some issues coming off zero throttle going to partial throttle, especially on the highway. i have tinkered a bit with accel and decel enrichment and enleanment and made some progress, but it will take some time. this is where you suggested retarding the timing slightly at those map points?
thanks again for the input. more to do today...:)
