the old AIDs had too much total retard shift (16 to 17 deg), and like my BTM setup that the AID was based on, it needed a pressure relief (my notes at jeff c's)
I discussed this with spg9Dave, and he's now suppling relief's for thoe who bought early aids from him, and new aids have less retard change.
Sounds like u have new one ... try more initial advance, 2 deg at a time. once apc knock correction occurs, back off the adv 2 deg. If this seems to be too much initial adv .. hard start ... surging ..emissions, then Dave can tell u how to reset the stop for less retard change ( like 9 deg instaed of current 11 deg)
