lms has touched on one of the tricks to go fast around the tight quick turns in autox and one of the reasons I think a 900 might be fun. You need to get the car to rotate and drop throttle oversteer is one way to do it. With a 911 you can make pretty dramatic wieght transfers to control the car with. Get the tail to just start to come out by getting off the gas then back on and you are heading in the right direction with revs up and you still have traction. Watch world rally cars, they do the same thing but with much more dramatic results. I would think with a 900 you could do much the same because they have some tendency to rotate in a turn when you suddenly get off the gas. One of the best ways to learn how to do it is find a wet parking lot that is empty. We pratice that way and you sure get a feel for it quickly. 911's have a bad reputation for being a handful that has come from the early,1965-1971 short wheelbase cars. The long wheelbase cars are much more forgiving and a lot of fun once you figure out how far you can go with oversteer. Most 911's disconnect the rear anti-roll bars when autox'ing to limit oversteer. I would think the same would hold true for a 900. Less rear bar and more front bar. My 900S doesn't have a rear bar only a front and it feels about right in fast street driving. The rear wants to start to come out when I drop the throttle.
