Hey

Well this Wednesday I'm having an exhaust shop do some ehxuast work for me (2-1/2" catback mandrel bent piping, glasspack muffler, and 2-1/2" I/O high-flow cat). Can't wait to hear my SPG scream. Although I'm looking forward to the new sound, I'm mainly interested in the performance gain.

I talked to the guy about making me a 3" custom downpipe.. it is very do-able.. for about $200 installed, not bad at all

The guy is truly a pro, and he has worked on John Webber's 86 SPG (2-1/2" catback) and Mike Beare's 89 900T (3" catback w/3" cat) with great success.. I trust his work

I'm going to buy a battery relocatio kit & relocate the battery to the trunk, so available space for the downpipe is not a problem...

my main question is.. we're going to have to use the stock mounting flange to the turbo, which will be welded onto the 3" piping down to the cat, because he cannot fabricate a new mounting flange to the turbo.. does anyone see a problem with this?

it will be 3" right after it leaves the flange, and the sharp bend will be eliminated, I'm just worried the stock mounting flange might be too restrictive... yet the 3" and slight bend may makeup for it

I'd like to do a little research before he just bolts this up..
my motto: double the time researching on TSN's BB, half the time in the garage! ( :

Any insights are welcome!
Thanks everyone!
