You need a ball-spring type nit, not a simple bleed valve. That will provide much better spoolup. but You have a T5 ECU and could bypass the BPC valve.

The T5's are good at controlling knock via timing and mitures. A great number of T5's are running near 15 psi of boos with no problems.

If you have an automatic you might want to keep the boost mild, or also if running stock exhaust and paper filter etc.

If your boost is reading stays up when you are off the throttle, you are really scaring me and I want you to carefully review your connections. It sounds like you are interfering with the line to the map sensor.

With a ball spring unit, you want to hook it up so that pressure from the compressor housing hose barb goes into the MBC and then to the BPC valve. If you have a bleeder valve I don't know that will happen. With this system you can increase the setting to get better turbo response, but the poin tis not to increase the boost pressures. When you do that the APC just fights back. When you bypass the BPC, the APc an't do anythjing amd you can adjust until you get a fuel cut. So it sounds like you are trying to make it do what that style of installation is not meant to do. But whay does your boost reading stay high. It sounds like you are into tjhe MAP lines! If so, I expect that you could be blowing smoke and fouling the plugs. Could get a CEL too.
