Hey all!

Well I just had my 90 SPG taken to the exhaust shop to have a catback put on...

I had him put on;
2.5" I/O high flow catalytic converter
2.5" I/O glasspack muffler
2.5" mandrel bent aluminum piping

the noise..
very nice.. "blats" every once in a while.. not too loud at all.. in 5th gear it quiets down perfectly.. I personally like when it's idling

the performance gain...
yesterday, with the stock exhaust.. I was cruising at 55mph without the turbo engaged, the needle was right at the white/yellow.. stepped on the gas to the floor.. 5 seconds until the needle touched red

today, with the upgraded exhaust.. cruising at 55mph, all other factors are the same... it takes approximatly 4 seconds for the stock boost guage to touch the red when giving it full gas from 55mph

so, 1 more second quicker spool-up time
not bad I guess

I will have the same exhaust shop custom make me a 3" downpipe, and I think that should definatly help (from what I've read here on the Perf BB)

as to "making the car faster", I'm not sure if it really did. The sound is neat, which I didn't really care about, but the performance gain was very slight, but does provide some benefit

IMHO, if you have an c900T/SPG (cant speak for NG900, 9-3, etc, etc) if you have enough to do an exhaust, and are also thinking about downpipes, upgraded fuel systems, intercoolers, etc, go with one of those choices. The catback exhaust is nice, and I'm glad I had it put on and it's out of the way, but put your money into other go-fast items until you NEED the upgraded exhaust (225+hp I believe is when the stock turbo exhaust becomes seriously restrictive.. which I hope to hit)

maybe other's experiences are different, but I'm just providing some insight on what I personally saw.. maybe I'm helping someone, maybe I'm not.. if anyone has had different experiences or wants to comment, feel free.. I'd love your feedback!

just my ramblings & thoughts
enjoy ( :
